Dead Body Found Under Bridge

Landscape workers made a grim discovery yesterday in the pedestrian tunnel under Colorado Boulevard and Second Avenue. A local transient was found deceased in the tunnel at about 8:00 AM Wednesday morning. There were no obvious signs of foul play, however, due to the circumstances, the LA County Coroner responded and took custody of the remains. The cause of death remains under investigation pending results of an autopsy. It is not uncommon for local transients to frequent this area which adjoins the horse trail along the wash. The trail also runs through Eisenhower Park to the north.
